The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare -- Act 2, Scene 8 -- Summary and Analysis

Salarino and Salanio, in Italy, discuss Bassanio's ship that has sailed with Gratiano. They discuss Shylock's anger at Jessica's running away with Christian Lorenzo and taking Shylock's money. Salarino has heard tell of a ship that washed up in France, laden with money and goods, and hope that it is not one of Antonio's.
